Review: The Score by Kristen Proby (Single in Seattle #3)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR.

The Score is the third full-length novel in the Single in Seattle series from Kristen Proby, and this time around we've got Sophie Montgomery, daughter of Isaac and Stacy Montgomery (Under the Mistletoe with Me, the first holiday novella in the With Me in Seattle series). She's a twenty-eight-year-old social media influencer with a following of millions, advocating for body positive and healthy living. When she literally crashes into a gorgeous guy on the run, she has no idea how her life is about to change. But then, she also didn't have a clue that the guy is none other than Isaiah Harrison, better known as Ike, the star quarterback for Seattle's professional football team. The twenty-five-year-old is smitten with Sophie, but he knows he's got his work cut out for him if he's hoping to show her that he's only a player on the field. Will their feelings be worth the risk of putting their hearts on the line or will the real score between them end up costing them everything?

This third Single in Seattle novel is my favorite so far. I loved the connection that Sophie and Ike shared, and the evolution of their relationship felt organic to me. They just had that "something" that made them click, making their romance believable. These two managed to surprise me as individuals as well, which is a good thing. Now, it wasn't as if I had negative preconceptions; it was more of aspects of their personalities and back stories that added interesting layers, allowing them to standout, especially Sophie who happens to be part of an entire clan composed of family you're born into and family that's been founded on friendship. I liked and appreciated the maturity that both Sophie and Ike had, dealing with whatever was thrown their way by NOT throwing tantrums. From beginning to end, the flow of The Score simply had me sitting back and enjoying my front-row seat to the beautiful romance between the main characters. This receives five stars.
