Review: "Fish & Chips" by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux

Day three of Ty & Zane fangirling...

Fish & Chips is the third book in the Cut & Run series by the writing team of Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux and takes readers along for an undercover adventure with my favorite M/M duo of FBI Special Agent Tyler Brady and FBI Special Agent Zane Garrett. The previous two books mentioned Ty and Zane having vast experience as undercover agents so it was great to finally be able to read about this particular assignment, especially since they're able to do it together.

Zane and Ty are tasked to go undercover as Corbin and Del Porter, a married gay couple who have just been arrested for theft (art, antiquities, etc.). Naturally, the two agents not only have to act the parts but have to look like the men they're impersonating. This also presents a unique opportunity for them to not have to be wary of who's watching them when they're being affectionate with each other. After all, they ARE supposed to be married. ^.^ Score!

The undercover assignment proves to be an eye-opening one for both Ty and Zane, especially for Ty who has to be the submissive one in the marriage. While they enjoy pretending to be a gay couple out in the open, they're also faced with challenges because they can't seem to find their back-up team on the ship they're on and there appears to be various factions out to get Corbin and Del, dead or alive. Nothing ever comes easy for these two.

I loved (yes, there's that word again) how Ty and Zane's being undercover allowed them to make certain realizations about how important they are to each other as partners inside and outside of the bedroom. The love story combined with the mystery thriller aspect of figuring who the bad guys are is what I enjoy most when it comes to this particular book as well as the series as a whole. While both Ty and Zane may come off as guys who are aggressive and domineering, there's a sensitivity there, especially when it comes to their relationship, that makes them quite endearing. ♥

Drum roll, please... Fish & Chips gets five stars. ^.^ Surprise! No? You figured I was going to give it five stars, eh? I told you I loved this series. ♥ And once again, do yourselves a favor and read the books if you haven't already. So worth the time you put into each one. Seriously.

Date read: 19 August 2014
