Review: "Divide & Conquer" by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux

This is day four of my fangirling. Deal with it. ^.^

Divide & Conquer is book numero quatro in Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux's bestselling Cut & Run series. In this fourth installment, we find our heroes, FBI Special Agent Beaumont (don't tell him I actually wrote that for all to read) Tyler Grady and FBI Special Agent Zane Zachary Garrett, being pushed as the faces for a public relations campaign for the FBI. Yes, Ty and Zane. Seriously. The reasons being that Ty is funny and Zane is a hit with the ladies. Naturally, they think it's a bad idea but it's not as if they have much of a choice in the matter.

Just when they think they're stuck with boring PR presentations, Ty and Zane are caught in the crosshairs of a demented individual wanting to wreak havoc in Baltimore. The two agents are constantly on their toes and find themselves having to save not just civilians and fellow agents but each other while trying to put a permanent stop to the bombings.

Aside from the action and suspense we've grown to expect from the Cut & Run books, book four introduces readers to Ty's Sidewinder teammates: Nick O'Flaherty (aka O), Kelly Abbott (aka Doc), Owen Johns, and Duruand Garrigou (aka Digger). The four men are like brothers to Ty and he finally decides to share with them a secret he's been keeping. Unfortunately, not all of them are exactly thrilled with his announcement and he's confronted with someone else's revelation and finds himself at a momentary loss because of it.

What was not to love about Divide & Conquer? Ty and Zane were confronted by a psychotic bomber whose real intentions were difficult to ascertain and there were certain issues between the two of them that they had to deal with. I actually squeeed when Zane finally said what I've been waiting for him to admit (though Ty was obviously waiting much longer). The ending however...it kinda broke my heart. Thank goodness I had book five waiting on my e-reader or I would have been unbelievably frustrated wondering what the hell happened.

Divide & Conquer gets five stars. Notice a trend? ^.^ As always, readers get tons of Ty and Zane hotness and sweetness, as well as the usual snarkiness between the two. Add to that the thrill and mystery of them chasing after the bad guys while dealing with injuries and life and death situations and you've got yourself a book worth reading. ♥

Date read: 20 August 2014
