Review: Keeping London by Ellie Wade (Flawed Hearts #2)

Note: This ARC was provided by Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Keeping London is the heartbreaking sequel to Finding London, both books belonging to the Flawed Hearts series from Ellie Wade. This second in a series picks up where its predecessor left off and London Wright and Loïc Berkeley are making the most of their time before Loïc has to leave for his deployment to Afghanistan. There is no question just how much London and Loïc continue to grow as individuals and as a couple, proving that two people don't need to be exactly alike in order to be together. They're ready to do whatever it takes to keep that love intact even with all those miles between each other. They believe the wait will be worth the rewards when they're together again. The letters, emails, and online conversations, those stolen moments in the midst of a war--these are the things that the two lovers look forward to, hold on to, strengthening their conviction that in the end, their love is strong enough to survive and thrive. When fate intervenes and tests them, will London and Loïc keep holding on or will one or both now let go?

Someone cue to the song "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Elton John and Kiki Dee because that's what Ellie Wade did to my poor, broken heart with that evil cliffhanger of hers. The hopeless romantic in me loved how London and Loïc fell more and more in love with one another, even when they were apart, finding strength and support in each other. And then...BAM! Heart. Broken. And I'm not just talking about my heart here. I won't go into details other than say that I'm hoping the tears I shed in that last part of the book is going to be recouped with lots of smiles and heart-thumping happiness with the third book, Loving London. I get why the choice that was made was made but that still didn't stop me from wanting to hurl my e-reader in frustration and in empathyfor London and Loïc. Ellie Wade is a master in making you fall in love with her stories and her characters and that she's done twice over with the two books in the Flawed Hearts series. It continues to be a five-starred ride with Keeping London and I can't wait for more. ♥
