Review: His Undercover Princess by Avery Flynn (Tempt Me #1)

Note: This ARC was provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

I've read a few of Avery Flynn's books but I have to say that her Tempt Me series starter from Entangled Publishing's Indulgence imprint has got to be my favorite! His Undercover Princess is a fast-paced story that takes romance, sex, action, and suspense and melds all of them together in what was a nearly seamless tale between a princess in hiding and a member of an underground group seeking to help her take her rightful place on the throne. This isn't your run-of-the-mill royalty and commoner falling in love with one another story. Princess Eloise has taught herself to be independent and is quick as a whip, her intelligence at par with her beauty. As Elle Olsen, she's lived in the United States for a decade, her last image of her homeland of Elskov that of her father dying after he was assassinated in the midst of a coup. On the other hand, Dominick Rasmussen is anything but common, known as a billionaire financier and playboy who's made a reputation for himself over the past eight years. He's cocky but he backs that up with knowledge and experience. Together, these two were one hell of a sexy, explosive pair with off-the-charts chemistry.

While Elle's secret is known even before you start reading the story (unless, of course, you go into it completely blind), Dom has his own share of secrets and I admit that they caught me off-guard. There's also a twist in the story, but this one didn't take me by surprise since my suspicious nature had me coming up with scenarios in my head early on and it took one tiny clue for me to lock in. There wasn't a single boring moment in this book, no lulls and nothing that can distract you from the story. Plus, the pair of Dom and Elle are irresistibly addictive, with a push and pull that matches perfectly with their sweet and spicy relationship. The dilemma that they face--that of Elle having to take her rightful place as the sovereign of Elskov and Dom being a commoner, albeit an extremely wealthy one--may not be as a big a deal as it once was in countries that have royal families but there's just something enticing about an everyday individual falling in love with someone meant to wear the crown and lead their people and that love wholly reciprocated as well. I so adored His Undercover Princess and can't wait for more. Five stars! ♥
