Review: Irresistible by Willow Aster (Landmark Mountain #3)

If you've been following the Landmark Mountain series, then you pretty much picked up on the hint of who would be the main characters in the third installment. That being said, Irresistible can still be read as a standalone, although I highly recommend the books be read in order because there are possible spoilers for the previous stories and couples, especially given the fact that the Landmark siblings, Sutton, Callum, Wyatt, Theo, and Scarlett, are featured prominently. Either way, a visit to Landmark, Colorado is a must!

Irresistible is Wyatt Landmark's story, one he shares with Marlow Walker and her four-year-old daughter, Dakota. Both are in their late twenties, with Wyatt being an ER doctor at Pine Community Hospital and Marlow recently separating from her louse of a husband and making the move from Texas to Colorado with Dakota in tow. Literally crashing into each other may not have been the most auspicious of meet-cutes, but it certainly was a memorable for these two. Now, Marlow's wary of the good doctor, but Wyatt is doing his best to prove her first impression of him is wrong. In the process, this particular Landmark could very well lose his heart to the soon-to-be divorcee and her precious girl.

Ah, I do adore a single parent romance that delivers the romance as well as has the non-parent main character falling for both the aforementioned single parent and their child! I loved seeing Wyatt and Marlow make a concerted effort to be friends, even as they tried to set aside whatever non-platonic feelings they had for each other in the meantime. What truly stole my heart, though, was seeing Wyatt bond with Dakota. Every interaction they had highlighted just how extraordinary their relationship was. There was so much to love about this book, which is why it really does live up to its name and gets five stars.

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way. This has both heart and heat as well as lighthearted humor along with a bit of heart-tugging angst and it's headlined by a couple of main characters that I was totally smitten with from the moment Paige got a pretty good idea of just how much her best friend's younger brother Cannon had grown up from the nerdy boy who followed them around like a puppy when they were kids.
