Review: Jaded Regret: The Complete Series by L.L. Collins

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

She was right. Topping Jaded Regret’s popularity would be a feat. Not that I wanted to do that. Between the dynamic music and the reputation the band had with giving back to the community, they were a powerhouse that wouldn’t go away anytime soon. Their rags to riches story was eaten up across the world.

I'm going to start this review off by suggesting--INSISTING--that you one-click Jaded Regret: The Complete Series right now. As in, this very minute. Feel free to do a quick search on my blog for my individual reviews for each of the books in the series and you'll see why I'm highly recommending this series. Why right now? Well, it's currently available for less than a dollar. Yep. That's 99 cents for four full-length novels, all nicely packaged in one set. It's a win-win, people. These are four seriously amazing reads and this fab series was one of my favorites from last year.

What is Jaded Regret? It's a band composed of four members--Bexley Bryant (vocals and lead guitar), Jonathan Gibbons (guitar), Beau Anderson (drums), and Tanner Hart (bass)--but the family they've created extends to those they work with as well, especially since Beau's sister, Natalie, also happens to be their manager. The series chronicles the journey Bex, Johnny, Beau, Tanner, and Natalie embark on as a band and as individuals as they sing and play their way to stardom and make a name for themselves in the music industry and find love along the way.

There are four novels that make up the series--Sentenced (Bex and Johnny's story), Snared (Beau's story with social worker April Knight), Hartstrings (Tanner's story with abuse survivor Mackenzie Shepard), and Exposed (Natalie's story with record executive Kai Pierson). All four members of the band plus Natalie have their fair share of issues, but then so does Mac, with April and Kai probably being the only two who are as put-together as you can get. So yes, prepare yourselves for angsty stories, but they also contain some lightheartedness and lots of heat and heart.

I'm including links to my individual reviews for the four books if you're looking for my more comprehensive and in-depth for every one of the stories. Sentenced and Hartstrings received five stars each, while Snared and Exposed five-plus stars garnered apiece. There are potential triggers that you need to take note of, specifically various forms of abuse experienced by more than one of the characters. I'm encouraging you to read Jaded Regret: The Complete Series. It was a joy re-reading these love and life stories. This is so much more than a rock romance. Five-plus stars. ♥
