Review: Twice as Forbidden by J.D. Hollyfield

Twice as Forbidden is the newest standalone from J.D. Hollyfield, and the book most definitely lives up to its title. Saying yes to starting a prestigious internship at Blake Industries with her boyfriend may have seemed like a good idea in the beginning, but then nineteen-year-old Georgia Price decides that she and Noah Blake need a break. While the CEO may be Noah's dad, Georgia hopes things will go smoothly. However, things become complicated when the attraction between her and Jackson Blake lead to an affair that neither one can come back from. He's forty-two and her ex's father, and to make matters worse, it looks like someone has it out for both of them. What will it cost Georgia and Jackson if they choose to pursue their relationship--and choose each other?

J.D. Hollyfield has a way with words, and every time I've picked up a book of hers, I'm drawn in by her storytelling and character building. For the record, Georgia and Noah were not together when she and Jackson began their relationship. However, that doesn't mean that there was nothing illicit about what was going on. The word "forbidden" is in the title for a reason. You've got the twenty-three-year age difference, Georgia being Jackson's son's former girlfriend, and her being an intern in Jackson's company. Add in the romance, sex, and suspense--yup, there was suspense, and it was the kind that kept me on the edge of my seat!--and you've got yourself one heck of an enticing read in Twice as Forbidden. This gets 4.5 stars, and suffice it to say I'm eager for what awaits Noah next.
