Review: My Best Friend's Ex by Meghan Quinn (Binghamton #2)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via WordSmith Publicity in exchange for an honest review.

Meghan Quinn just made my wish come true! After reading Co-Wrecker and getting all obsessed with one particular supporting character, she's gone ahead and made me one happy camper by giving Tucker Jameson his much deserved happily-ever-after. You don't necessarily have to read the aforementioned standalone; HOWEVER, I'm recommending that you do because then you'll have a better understanding of the kind of relationship Tucker had with his ex, Sadie Montgomery, and how that played out. Of course, because Tucker shares his new love story (the old one being the one he had with Sadie because there were genuine feelings there) with Emma Marks, Sadie's best friend, that means she's also part of Co-Wrecker. Whether you decide to read that book or not (YOU SHOULD!), you'll absolutely still be able to enjoy the author's latest romantic comedy, My Best Friend's Ex, without worrying that you're missing out on anything (other than the enjoyment of yet another Meghan Quinn rom-com).

Tucker Jameson had the house he envisioned living in with the woman he wanted to share his life and create a family with. Unfortunately, that woman is living her own dream...with someone other than Tucker. So when Emma Marks, his ex's best friend and someone he also happens to be good friends with, has nowhere to live after receiving a last minute eviction notice, Tucker makes her an offer that she can't refuse, even if Emma quickly realizes that becoming roommates with your best friend's ex isn't as easy at may seem. Sure, they have rules and boundaries and stuff like that...but did that include fantasizing about the man you consider a friend and whom you shouldn't be thinking about in non-platonic ways? As they cross the line, Emma can't help but wonder if Tucker still thinks of his ex when they're together. Tucker may have given Emma his body, but is he ready to give her his heart?

Ah, Tucker... This guy! Gah! My heart broke for him in Co-Wrecker and that was due to his being a really great guy. His pining for his ex was normal and if we're all being honest, we've all done it at least once in our lives. After all, he had the rest of his life planned out in his head with her in mind. But you know what they say about best laid plans... I've liked Tucker since Co-Wrecker and I loved getting to know him even better in My Best Friend's Ex. The guy's seriously book boyfriend material. Emma didn't connect with me as much as Sadie did, but that doesn't mean she was a horrible heroine. She was likable and had her quirky moments--I mean she was best friends with Sadie, after all. While Co-Wrecker remains my Meghan Quinn favorite, My Best Friend's Ex is still a five-starred gem. ♥
