Review: Finding Lord Landry by Lucy Lennox (The Billionaire Brotherhood #5)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

I wasn't sure how Lucy Lennox was going to pull of the whole secret identity trope, but goodness me, she pulled it off impeccably well in this fifth and final novel in her The Billionaire Brotherhood series. If you've followed the series from the get-go, then it would have been near impossible for you to miss the tension between supermodel Landry Davis and Kenji Toma, Sterling Chase's executive assistant. I'm not talking about the sort of tension caused by Kenji dealing with whatever trouble Landry has stirred up, but the kind that makes you wonder if there's something more than the overly efficient employee and troublemaker employer relationship going on. Okay, okay, it was really obvious sexy shenanigans were happening, and now, not only do readers get to see just how much chemistry Landry and Kenji have, but we discover that Landry is actually The Right Honourable Everett Landry Davencourt, Viscount Hawling. And no, I am absolutely not kidding!

Finding Lord Landry is neither a historical romance nor a fairy tale, but its main characters certainly get a much awaited and even more deserved happily-ever-after. Landry and Kenji had this whole back and forth thing going on throughout the series. The former seemed to relish pushing the latter's buttons, and they seemed to be such opposites, and not in a yin-to-his-yang sort of way. But whatever preconceived notions I may have had of Landry, well, those went straight out the window once I learned more about his background and saw beyond the supermodel facade. I flat-out adored the "real" Landry, and I confess there were a number of times I wanted to grab Kenji and make him see just how devoted Landry was to him. That being said, I loved how everything played out, and of course, the rest of the Brotherhood and their partners and this wonderful family that they had created together were ever present and consistently supportive. My one quibble would have to be the British characters "speaking" more American (for example, "mom" instead of "mum"), which is minor but noticeable. Five stars go to the last Billionaire Brotherhood book, and it ends things on a high.
