Review: One Night (Hand) Stand by Julia Kent

When it comes to romantic comedies that are anything but run-of-the-mill, I know that I can always count on Julia Kent to deliver, and boy, has she delivered. One Night (Hand) Stand is Kent's newest novel--and it may or may not be the first a new series I believe is called Get What You Need. I realize how confusing that sounds, but I'm honestly not sure if this is to remain a standalone--and by standalone, I mean not part of a series--or if it's a series starter. That being said, this is an absolute must-read, especially if you're in the market for something more than the usual rom-com fare with outstanding writing to boot.
One night stands are supposed to be casual and uncomplicated. Sarah Gorenta, however, has just realized that not all one night stands are made equally. The sex with the guy she called Mr. Never Mind was mind-blowing, but finding out that her yoga teacher and her one night stand were the same person has her gobsmacked. After all, Sarah wasn't taking yoga for slaps and tickles. She was an investigative reporter sniffing out a story about corruption with the yoga chain that Casey Willingham is part of. That means there can be no sexy shenanigan-y repeats, but tell that to Sarah and Case who want even more.
I laughed a heck of a lot more than I thought possible while reading this book, and you certainly won't hear me complaining. Yes, the romance was there in spades, but this is a romantic comedy, after all, and finding a book in this genre that has actually made me laugh out loud--and often--is far rarer than you would think. Sarah and Case had things to overcome, especially there was a bit of deception going on with them both, but these two deserved that happy ending. One Night (Hand) Stand was a five-starred read, and I hope we do get a series because of certain supporting characters (I'm looking at you, Jared!).
