A Yorkshire Christmas by Kate Hewitt is the second book in the multi-author Christmas series Christmas Around the World. This second installment takes readers to Yorkshire, a quaint farming county in England, where a teacher from New York arrives in order to have the quiet Christmas that she wants and then meets a farmer whose gruffness does nothing to cover the fact that he's a gorgeous and seemingly nice guy.

Claire Lindell doesn't want to suffer through another one of her family's "perfect" Christmases and finally takes her godmother up on a standing invitation to visit Holly Cottage in Yorkshire. Claire needs to get away and have time to think and re-assess a disastrous almost affair but what she doesn't count on is getting her rented car stuck in the snow several miles away from her godmother's country home. While walking through the snow, she comes across Noah Bradford and helps him with one of his sheep. From there, Noah helps Claire out by driving to her car, to the cottage, and to the supermarket but thinks she's just like every other rich girl and experience has taught him to stay away from the likes of them.

However, when Claire offers to help Noah out when he finds himself suddenly spending the holidays with his young daughter, Noah doesn't refuse her assistance. Over the next couple of days, Noah's daughter Molly takes a shine to Claire and Noah is surprised to discover that he enjoys being with Claire just as much. Still, both he and Claire know that she's only there for a week and will have to fly back to New York soon enough. Will the season of giving present them with something that they've both truly wanted all their lives?

This was a beautifully written novella and I enjoyed reading it immensely. The story was fast-paced but it didn't feel as if it was skimming over any important details. The characters were also well-developed and even though they appeared to be opposites on the surface, they were quite similar in the ways that counted. Anyone looking for a good Christmas romance should definitely check out A Yorkshire Christmas. I'm giving it 4.5 stars. ♥
