Review: Worth the Fight by CF White (Worth It #2)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Gay Romance Reviews.

Worth the Fight is the second novel in the Worth It series penned by CF White, and if you've read the series starter, Worth the Wait, then Reece Morgan and Trent Lawson should be familiar characters. Thirty-five-year-old Reece is a firefighter with the Worthbridge Fire Station, and he's got quite a reputation when it comes to sleeping around and being equal opportunity with his hookups. However, what isn't quite known by those around him is the fact that he's only had one person on his mind over the past several months--Trent Lawson. The twenty-seven-year-old emergency medical technician, though, prefers to keep his distance from Reece, making it clear that once should be more than enough for both of them. But Reece refuses to turn away from the pull he feels towards Trent--a pull he knows is all too mutual, no matter how much Trent may choose to deny it. The fight for more could all be worth it, but at what cost?

I have no qualms in admitting that I am officially addicted to this series. Freddy and Nathan's second chance story in Worth the Wait set the bar high, and now, Reece and Trent's hurt/comfort story have easily reached it with Worth the Fight. There were glimpses of Reece being more than his reputation for casual sex in the previous book, and I was definitely curious as to how he and Trent would actually work out as a couple. These two have issues they need to get a handle on, but I'm not going to divulge what they are because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has yet to read the book. What I will say is that this story tugged at my heartstrings while also keeping me on my toes with the arc that continues from the first book, i.e. the suspense part. In short, this is still very much a romantic suspense read, and my attention was focused solely on my e-reader from start to finish. Five stars for this worthwhile M/M read!
