Review: Mistaken Identity by Lani Lynn Vale (Content Advisory #5)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions.

The Content Advisory series should come with it's own content advisory: Highly addictive motorcycle club romance series with a smacking of suspense to keep you on your toes. Lani Lynn Vale is five books in, and she shows no signs of slacking, delivering yet another highly entertaining story and main characters in Mistaken Identity. If you've been following the series from the beginning, then journeyman plumber Audric Ingram should be a familiar character. He's a member of the Truth Tellers MC, a widower, and a single father to a two-year-old little girl. His late wife, Laney, was also his best friend--a best friend he shared with Creole Williams, a flight attendant who lost her young son and her beloved mother in a matter of months. The two haven't exactly been all that friendly towards each other, not since things changed when they were seventeen, but a lot has has happened over the past twelve years. Now, long-held secrets are about to come out and may shift everything between Audric and Creole. A life together could be on the horizon for them, but it seems that there are those who'll put a stop to that lofty notion.

Talk about quite a few things being cleared up with this fifth Content Advisory novel! There was the thing with Audric and Laney, and then we learn why Creole didn't want to have much to do with Audric for years. They'd known each other since fourth grade, but then something happened when they were seventeen (nope, not spoiling it for anyone who hasn't read the book yet!), leaving Laney the lone thing that tied them together. The humor and suspense are woven into the romance, and I seriously couldn't have stopped myself from flipping one page to the next even if you'd paid me to. There's also quite a bit of angst in the story, with some heavier themes that are rather heartrending. Mistaken Identity was an altogether great read, one that I couldn't get enough, but then that's been par for the course as far as this series is concerned. I'm giving this one 4.5 stars out of five stars, and I am seriously eager for more!
