About Stone Cold Cowboy
The last thing rancher Rory Kendrick expects to find when he’s searching for his missing cattle is a genuine damsel in distress. After rushing to help, he can’t help wanting to do anything he can for this lovely but damaged woman. But even his kind deed won’t get Sadie to tell him who’s responsible for hurting her.

Sadie is trying to hold onto her family, and her life. With an ill father who’s refusing treatment and a younger brother who has fallen in with a dangerous crowd, she’s beginning to feel like she can’t save anyone, least of all herself. When her brother owes money to the wrong people, Sadie tries to pay off his debts, but she doesn’t have the cash. The one person who might be able to help her out is the last person she wants to involve in her family drama, but Rory won’t take no for an answer.

Rory is all about family, but sometimes you’ve got to let go. If you can’t save them, save yourself. Sadie’s been dealt a bad hand she refuses to fold. Because he loves her, he’ll do anything to keep her safe and give her the happy life she deserves, even betray her trust to take down her brother.

An Excerpt from Stone Cold Cowboy
“I really want to kiss you right now.”

Her gaze dipped to his mouth. If he wanted to kiss her, she needed to kiss him. She slid her hand up his shoulder to the back of his neck and pulled him in. She stared into his eyes and saw a hunger there that matched her own. She’d never felt this overwhelming urge to be close to someone, let alone a man, but something about Rory drew her in and made her want to stay.

“Did you change your mind, or are you just trying to kill me?”

His deep voice resonated through her. She pressed her lips to his, thinking it just a test. A way to see if they fit, connected on a deeper level than the pull she already felt toward him.

The second her lips touched his, fire lit through her system. She pulled back surprised that such a simple thing could spark such deep and overwhelming need. The same fire she felt flashed in his golden-green eyes.

“Once wasn’t enough.” This time, Rory pulled her back and kissed her, wrapping her in his strong arms.

About Jennifer Ryan
Jennifer Ryan is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Hunted series and The McBrides series. She writes romantic suspense and contemporary small-town romances featuring strong men and equally resilient women. Her stories are filled with love, family, friendship, and the happily-ever-after we all hope to find.

Jennifer lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and three children. When she isn’t writing a book, she’s reading one. Her obsession with both is often revealed in the state of her home and in how late dinner is to the table. When she finally leaves those fictional worlds, you’ll find her in the garden, playing in the dirt and daydreaming about people who live only in her head, until she puts them on paper.

A Q&A with Jennifer Ryan
1. How did the Montana Men series come about? Was it intended to be a spin-off of the Hunted series from the beginning or did popularity of the Hunted books inspire you to create the Montana Men?

The popularity of the Hunted books sparked the idea for the Montana Men. Fans of the Hunted series asked to know how Caleb and Summer got together before they appeared in Saved by the Rancher. I wrote the prequel to the Hunted series – Can’t Wait – which became the prequel to the Montana Men series, too, when Caleb’s brother’s attended the wedding. The Bowden brothers are the first three books in the series (At Wolf Ranch, When It’s Right, and Her Lucky Cowboy). In Her Lucky Cowboy, we meet Dane’s good friends, the Kendrick brothers. Rory Kendrick is our Stone Cold Cowboy.
2. The first three books in Montana Men are about the Bowden brothers. What made you decide to make the Kendrick books part of the same series instead of them having a separate series?

I fell in love with those sexy, tough, family-is-everything Montana cowboys and wanted to write more. I purposely used the Montana Men series name because I knew I could expand the series to include more than just the Boden brothers. In fact, there are so many characters set up now, I could keep the series going for a long time. I also like that readers can jump into the series at book two or five or ten and not feel lost, or that they need to know a huge cast of characters to follow the story.

3. Given the chance to spend the day with any of the guys from the Montana Men series, who would you spend it with and why?

Oh, that’s like asking me who is my favorite child. I love them all for different reasons. But, if I got the chance, I’d love to spend the day with Dane (Her Lucky Cowboy). I love his strength and ability to be gentle and kind. He’s got a good heart.

4. Being from the San Francisco Bay area, which three places would you take the characters from your books to give a taste of life by the Bay?

The great thing about living in the Bay Area is that you’re so close to everything: the beach, mountains, cities and small towns. I think our Montana Men would love a tour of San Francisco. They’d probably get a kick out the city on the bay. Great restaurants, and the wharf has so much to offer – shopping, tours of Alcatraz, plays, and beaches.

I love the great outdoors. I’d take them on a hike up Mount Diablo. From the top, they’d get a spectacular view of the whole valley.

I’d give our country boys a tour of some of the many microbreweries. Napa might not be up their ally, but a beer tour would be a lot of fun to do with the guys.

5. If you had to move from San Francisco to Montana for a year and were only allowed to take five things with you (not including people, pets, or other living things), what would they be and why?

My very large To Be Read pile of books, my laptop (so I can write), chocolate (because I don’t go anywhere without it), my hiking boots (so I can explore the gorgeous landscape), my cell phone with GPS (because I get lost – plus I love playing Farm Saga and Candy Crush).

6. What's up next for you as a writer this 2016?

A lot.

The Return of Brody McBride – Book 1 of The McBrides series will be reissued in paperback on June 28.

I’ve got a Montana Men novella coming out August 23 (This is Caden’s story. Readers will meet this tough DEA agent in Stone Cold Cowboy.)

On September 20, Her Renegade Rancher – the next Montana Men novel will be released, which is Colt’s story.
7. What advice would give aspiring writers who hope to achieve what you have someday?

Don’t give up. Write what you love. Use rejections and critiques as a learning experience to improve your writing. Be kind – to yourself and others.
