Review: Dirty Filthy Rich Boys by Laurelin Paige (Dirty #0.5)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

Dirty Filthy Rich Boys is the free prequel novella in the new Dirty series from bestselling author Laurelin Paige and it is, indeed, the story of rich boys who are every bit as dirty and filthy as you may imagine them to be, and they're certainly on their way to becoming even dirtier, filthier, and richer men. But I digress. We meet the very innocent and virginal Sabrina Lind, who has earned her way into Harvard through a scholarship. She's had a thing for Weston King from the moment she first saw him, but she's never really caught his eye. The one whose attention she's snagged, however, is graduate student and teaching assistant Donovan Kincaid, four years Weston's senior and Weston's closest friend. Both Donovan and Weston belong to wealthy families, live privileged lifestyles, and are on course to continue the joint legacy their families have going. Sabrina may have noticed Weston first but now it's Donovan she can't get out of her head. He's demanding something from her; could she be ready to give it to him?

Okay, Donovan is an enigma and one that I seriously want to figure out. With the bit of back story that's shared about him, it's clear that there's a reason why he is the way he is, especially with the whole hot-and-cold thing he does with Sabrina. She connects with him, not Weston, and based on what happened here in the prequel and on the blurb for the first full-length novel, Dirty Filthy Rich Men, I'm guessing that it's Donovan who commands her attention. I do wonder, though, how Weston is going to play into that "relationship". This could go a number of ways, but I'm hoping that Laurelin Paige is going to surprise me in the best way possible. I'm also looking forward to seeing how all three characters have changed because there is a jump of ten years between most of the events in this novella and those that will unfold in the novel. I'm liking what I've read so far, and while my expectations for Dirty Filthy Rich Men are realistic, they're also high because it's Laurelin Paige. Dirty Filthy Rich Boys gets five stars. ♥
