Review: Forbidden Princess by Alexa Riley (Princess #4)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via Ardent PRose in exchange for an honest review.

The writing duo that is Alexa Riley has released a surprise fourth addition to their Princess series and it's a story that began in His Princess, the first novella, and one which actually had it's own happy ending there as well. I confess, though, that I was curious about Vlad and Tabitha, especially since their connection to one another was as strong as King Roman and Alena's--the king Vlad guards and is best friends with and the princess that is the younger sister to Tabby. So, yes, I'm one of those readers that was happily surprised that they get their own time in the spotlight with Forbidden Princess. Tabby is constantly hounded by her mother that she needs to marry a king in order to secure their family's position, but when Tabby's never been one to simply bow down to the demands of her parents. Vlad immediately falls for the rebellious princess but can he protect her from her family's royal duty?

Both Tabby and Vlad were such memorable supporting characters in the series starter, and while there are a couple of parts in this story that ring familiar because we got to see them in book one but from either Alena's or Roman's perspective, this did show that their relationship did have depth to it. Kudos to Vlad being as protective of Tabby as he was of his king, if not even more so. Can I just say that Tabby and Alena's mother was a total bitch and I would have seriously considered having locked up in some tower after the way she treated both her daughters as if they were commodities to be sold or traded rather than taken care of. I've enjoyed the Princess series, and I'm not sure if this is truly the end or if there may be one or more waiting in the wings (and I wouldn't say "no" either!), but with Forbidden Princess, it felt like a very full circle moment. Sexy and sweet, book four gets 4.5 stars. ♥
