Review: Charlie, Love and Clichés by Ella Maise

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Valentine PR.

Ooh, it feels like forever since I last read an Ella Maise romance, but now she's back, and she's got one heck of a wonderfully written story about a girl named Charlie, a guy she fancies named William, and it's all about love and there's nothing cliché about it! Charlie, Love and Clichés is a true standalone, so if you've yet to read anything by Maise, this new release is as good a book of hers as any to become acquainted to her lovely storytelling and see why she's as appreciated as she is by many of my fellow readers and myself.

What happens when the one who got away, or in this case, the one who failed to show up, re-appears in your life as, of all things, an employee at your father's public relations firm? Well, if you're twenty-five-year-old Charlie Davis, everything goes from bad to worse when she realizes that William Carter doesn't seem to have a clue who she is. Or maybe that's a good thing, especially given the fact that she'll be a part of his team at work. The point is, there's no way Charlie's falling for him again, no matter how cheesy William gets.

By the time I was done reading this book, I had a cheesy smile on my face, and I say that rather proudly. Because in as much as I'm not a fan of cheese, I can't deny that cheesy in terms of love and romance is one of my guilty pleasures. I adored the heck out of Charlie and William, and I couldn't get enough of either of them. Plus, let's not forget Pepperoni, formerly known as Duke and lovingly nicknamed Pepp! Charlie, Love and Clichés was a great story about standing up for yourself and taking a second chance at true love. Five stars!
