Throwback Thursday Review Re-Post: "Easy" by Tammara Webber

Since this is a fairly new book blog and all my past book reviews were originally posted via my Goodreads account, I thought it would be a cute idea to re-post an old one here every Thursday.  ^.^ And, because one of my top favorite authors is Tammara Webber (love her!), I simply had to make my first Throwback Thursday Review Re-Post one of her earlier works (because you can never go wrong with a Tammara Webber book!). Drumroll, please...It's none other than Easy, the first book in the Contour of the Heart series!  I originally read this on 16 March 2013 and posted my Goodreads review the very same day.  ^.^  The book (trade paperback) was a gift from one of my dearest friends, Philip Mateo, during his visit to Manila from Hawaii.  ♥

Now, on to the review:

Easy by Tammara Webber was an easy read. ^.^ I loved Webber's Between the Lines series and this stand-alone was just as good as the books in that series and I appreciated that it tackled a serious issue that needs to be put in the spotlight.

Admittedly, there was a time or two wherein I was a tad frustrated with lead character Jacqueline (not Jackie!) because of the whole Landon and Lucas situation, plus with how she handled the incidents with Buck.  I figured out Landon and Lucas were one and the same so, naturally, I wanted Jacqueline to clue herself in sooner than she actually did (thank goodness for Benji!).  I didn't like the fact that she agreed to spend Thanksgiving with her ex-boyfriend, Kennedy, and his family, especially after the way he ended their relationship. But then, this isn't the first time I've experienced such a thing with a lead character (hehe).

Kudos to the author for creating female characters who were able to stand up for themselves when they needed to. I have nothing against characters who may need a guy to sweep in every now and again to save them but it is refreshing to see a guy tell a girl that, when the situation demands it, they can defend themselves.

Definitely one of my favorite recent reads.  Wonderful story line, great writing, and admirable characters who, flaws and all, you couldn't help but fall in love with.

Goodreads Rating: Five Stars

Date read: 16 March 2013
