Review: "Before You Break" by Christina Lee

Oh. Wow. When I was done reading Before You Break, the follow-up novel to All of Me, I was at a loss for words (which is a rare thing for me!). This book was hauntingly beautiful and had such heart and soul to it. The topic of suicide plays a very major part in what goes on from the beginning of the book 'til close to the end and it was handled with sensitivity and awareness of just how serious an issue it is.

Gabriella and Daniel meet over the phone. She's a counselor for the campus suicide hotline and he's a caller needing to talk to someone. They form a relationship of sorts, one based on trust and understanding, Gabriella needing to help and Daniel needing the help.

Ella and Quinn know each other...sort of. Her boyfriend is part of the same fraternity Quinn belongs to. They've exchanged pleasantries in the past but all it takes is one unexpected encounter for things to start changing between them.

Gabriella and Daniel. Ella and Quinn. Goodness, they had me from the very start. There was just this intensity that existed between them. Each was exactly what the other needed and it felt like, when they were together, everything just began to fall into place. ^.^

From all my gushing, you can probably tell how much I LOVED this book. I highly recommend it and while it is a stand-alone, I also recommend you read the first book, All of You, as well. ^.^ I'm giving Before You Break five very well-deserved stars.  This book goes on my list of favorite reads for 2014.  ♥

Note: I'll be re-posting my review of All of You as my Throwback Thursday Re-Post Review either this week or the next. ^.^

Date read: 23 June 2014
