Review: "Whisper to Me" by Christina Lee

I'm going to say this right off the bat: The books in this series, Between Breaths, just keep getting better and better! ♥ First there, were Avery and Bennett in All of You. Then, we got Ella and Quinn in Before You Break. Now, we have Rachel Mattson and Kai Nakos in Whisper to Me but they were the ones who had me from the first page 'til I put my e-reader down with a huge grin on my face. ^.^

Rachel was part of the triumvirate we met and got to know better in the first two books. She always appeared to be the one who didn't have a care in the world, not wanting to be hassled by romantic entanglements but not letting that stop her from being with the opposite sex. But behind the smile and carefree attitude, Rachel was hiding a secret from her college friends...

Kai has always been one of Rachel's closest and dearest friends from her youth and while he may not be the poster child for "the boy next door", he was the one with her when she faced her greatest challenge in life. Kai also has a secret...one he actually told Rachel while she was asleep in her hospital bed a few years ago but has never been able to tell her face-to-face. When both of them return home one summer, things between them heat up.

I love friends to lovers romance stories. There's always that feeling that everything should go smoothly because there's already that foundation of love and trust...but then books need conflict and tension, so obviously, there are complications and hurdles before we get to that happily ever after we all want. And yes, there were definitely all those when it came to Rachel and Kai, but oh my goodness, these two were just squeelicious, even when things were a bit rough. ^.^

Remember what I told you about both Rachel and Kai having secrets? Well, like Jean Racine said, "There are no secrets that time does not reveal." And let's face it, those secrets simply had to come to light for everyone's peace of mind and ultimate happiness. ^.^

Have I mentioned how much I loved this book? I haven't? Well, okay then...I LOVED WHISPER TO ME!!! Like I did with the previous two books, I highly recommend that you read this as soon as you can. Now would be good. ^.^ Whisper to Me is on my favorite reads for 2014 list and I'm already on pins and needles waiting for the fourth book, Promise Me This, to be released later this year!

Whisper to Me by the talented Christina Lee gets five out of five stars from me! ♥

Note: I'll be re-posting my review of All of You as my Throwback Thursday Re-Post Review either this week or the next. ^.^
