Review: Tangled by Rebecca Zanetti (Dark Protectors - Reese Family #3)

Note: This ARC was provided by the publisher via InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

Tangled is the third novella in the Dark Protectors - Reese Family series, which is a Dark Protectors spin-off featuring the Reese brothers and it's published through Evil Eye Concepts's 1001 Dark Nights collection of books. Novella number three is all about Theo Reese and Ginny O'Toole, with the vampire warrior giving chase to the thieving witch. They used to be friends...until they weren't any longer. Now, Ginny's stolen something that belongs to the Reese family--a flash drive containing information that could bring permanent and lasting damage to them. Theo doesn't care what it'll take to get Ginny to give the flash drive back, but when he learns about Ginny's motivation for doing what she did, Theo can't stop himself from wanting to help her. They've been pushing each other's buttons for years, but are they prepared to become entangled in each other's lives? Maybe for all eternity?

I so loved Theo and Ginny together! Theo, with all his gruffness was no pushover, already on to Ginny's machinations, but once he learned the secret she'd been keeping from everyone for a decade, his protectiveness--one usually reserved for his family alone--included her as well. Of course, Ginny was not simpering witch! Her abilities may have been hampered but she tried to make do with whatever she had in order to meet the end goal. I didn't like her all that much before, but getting to know her here certainly had me changing my mind really quickly. Rebecca Zanetti does note that 2018 will see her returning with new stories to the original Dark Protectors series and with the ending in this novella, there's a foreboding of sorts that has me wondering what the Realm will be facing next year. Here's to seeing more of the Reeses then as well! I'm giving Tangled 4.5 out of five possible stars. ♥
