I think it's safe to say that many of us have had at least one crush on a member of a boy band, or a pop princess if that's more of your thing. And hey, you don't even have to tell me whether that crush was when you were a teen or now as an adult. The thing is, there's something about boy bands that have made the female population, regardless of age, all a-flutter. We sing along to their songs, dance to their upbeat ditties, and sigh and swoon when they start talking. So, of course, there was no resisting a romantic comedy about a young woman with dreams of opening her own bakery and whose fantasy re-enters her life at the most awkward of moments. Oh, that fantasy? He happens to be a former member of a boy band that hit it big a few years back. And he also happens to be her best friend's older brother. And did I mention he was back in their hometown and that he now has his eye on her?

Mr. Right Now is the story of Maggie Hayes, whose ultimate dream was to open her own bakery in New York, which actually did happen...until it had to close its doors. She finds herself back in her hometown of Philadelphia, and lo and behold, someone else has made his way back as well--her teenage crush, former boy band member, and brother to her bestie, Drew Delaney. Things are sweet and spicy between the two, especially as they get hot and heavy, but this book was a lighthearted read, one which elicited its fair share of smiles and laughs from me. I loved Maggie and thought she was a hoot and she so deserved her happy ending with someone like Drew, who was truly a good guy. It's a rom-com, so expect quite a few shenanigans, some of which were downright silly. This was a great way to end my weekend. If you're looking for an amusing read, give Mr. Right Now a whirl. Four stars. ♥
