The Cuckoo's Call by Lily Morton Date Released: November 20, 2021 About The Cuckoo's Call Can a summer romance last forever? Wren Roberts thought he’d found his fairy tale when he met Mateo Rossi on holiday in Majorca. The wealthy and successful older man swept him off his feet, and before he knew it, he’d thrown caution to the wind and was living in Mateo’s waterside apartment in Venice. It’s a far cry from his harsh upbringing and crummy flat in London. But as the summer turns to autumn, cracks begin to show. Mateo’s family aren’t welcoming, and there doesn’t seem to be a place for Wren in Mateo’s world. He could have coped with all of that, but Mateo himself seems like a different person away from the sunshine island. Should Wren have been more cautious in riding off into the sunset when he wasn’t sure what lay over the horizon? From bestselling author Lily Morton comes a romance about two men who find that sometimes happily ever after doesn’t end there. ...

Review: Christmas Wish List by N.R. Walker (Hartbridge Christmas #2)

Image
Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author. N.R. Walker takes readers back to the quaint town of Hartbridge, Montana in the second book from her Hartbridge Christmas series, Christmas Wish List . You don't need to read the series starter, Tic-Tac-Mistletoe , in order to understand what happens in this second book, although Hamish Kenneally and Ren Brooks are supporting characters in this new story, plus the first book was a fun read, so who I am to stop you from reading it? (GO READ IT ALREADY!) This time around, we've got another Australian who comes to Hartbridge, although twenty-eight-year-old Jayden Turner is an expatriate who's been in the US since he was fifteen. That doesn't mean that he's necessarily planted roots though. His work as a chef takes him from one place to another until he feels the urge to leave. Working as a temporary chef over the holidays for a soon-to-open bed and breakfast in Hartbridge should give him time to figure out ...

Review: Bigger Than Us by Jodi Payne & BA Tortuga

Image
Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the authors via Gay Romance Reviews ARC Team. Bigger Than Us is the newest novel in Jodi Payne and BA Tortuga's "shoe stories" collection, and it's my second read from said collection, the first being Keeping Promises . I've now got Heart of a Redneck and Land of Enchantment , although I'm not entirely sure if the latter is actually one of the "shoe stories" since there are shoes, but there are legs attached to them AND there don't seem to be any kids in the story based on the blurb. Anyway, back to the latest "shoe" book! This is a story about two men who come together to not only deal with the huge loss of someone who meant a great deal to them, but to help his two young children hold on to family and home. Daniel McCaverty and Mitchell Brown were an interesting pair, what with them seemingly being opposites yet sharing a genuine platonic love for a man who was Dan's best friend a...

A Very Grumpy Chrimstas by Jerica MacMillan Release Date: November 22, 2021 About A Very Grumpy Christmas My neighbor is a Grinch.  Since I run the Christmas Emporium and sometimes moonlight as an elf, that's kind of a problem for me.  No surprise, though. When I brought over cookies to welcome him to the neighborhood this summer, he slammed the door in my face. Until he brings his kid to visit Santa one of the days I'm working as an elf, and I realize there are key parts of their story I'm missing ... The little girl is his much younger sister, not his daughter. He's her guardian since their parents died in a tragic accident. Now all of his handsome, broody glares make so much more sense. As one of Santa's elves, I make it my mission to make this Christmas as special for them as possible. Which somehow includes trespassing on his property to hang Christmas lights and braiding the little girl's hair regularly.  Despite his glares and grumpiness,...
