Review: A Baby for Christmas by Keira Andrews (Love at the Holidays #1)

I know a lot of people think that the perfect holiday to fall in love is Valentine's Day, but I beg to differ! There's something about the Christmas season--and for me, that begins once the -ber months come along--and finding love that just hits differently--in the best way possible, of course. In Keira Andrews's A Baby for Christmas, the main characters find not just love, but family, forgiveness, and that feeling of home. This book is part of the author's Love at the Holidays series, but it can truly be read as a standalone.

A Baby for Christmas is the story of Cameron Walsh and Jake Gregson, who may not have been close friends in high school, but Cam saw Jake as a good guy...until he did something that changed the trajectory of Cam's life. Fast forward years later, and Cam's dog, Toby, alerts him to a man and a baby stuck in the middle of a brewing snowstorm. When Cam realizes that the man is none other than Jake, he knows he can't just leave him and his daughter, Cora, out there to fend for themselves. Now, they're all trapped in Cam's tiny cabin with nowhere to go but maybe forward, hopefully together.

This was a heartwarming holiday romance read. I liked seeing Cam and Jake coming to terms with what happened when they were teenagers and with their current circumstances. You'd think not much could happen in the short span of time they were stuck together, but that snowstorm gave them a chance to communicate honestly and openly. A Baby for Christmas was a feel-good story highlighting letting go of the past in order to embrace the possibility of a future and finding love and home in the process. Four stars!
