Review: Bitten by Mistake by Annabelle Jacobs (Regent's Park Pack #1)

In a world where werewolves and humans don't just mingle but actively interact, twenty-five-year-old Jared Taylor wishes shifters would simply stay away from him, even shifters as tempting as twenty-eight-year-old Nathan Kohl. After Jared turns down Nathan's advances--and confusingly regrets them--the last thing he expects is to bump into him on the street, but not only do they bump into each other, Jared ends up getting bitten by mistake. With the laws that are in place, both men have their lives in one another's hands, and the only viable alternative forces them to be in close proximity of each other until the next full moon. They're frustrated by the situation they're in and with one another, but the attraction that was there when they first sat down next to each other isn't just still there, it's far more potent now than it's ever been. With the very real threats of being found out by Nathan's pack, a rogue pack waiting to attack, and their increasingly deeper and more intimate feelings, can Nathan and Jared survive till the full moon?

Bitten by Mistake is an M/M paranormal romance from author Annabelle Jacobs. I think it's a standalone but I'm hoping it'll spawn a series because there are a few other supporting characters I wouldn't mind reading more about in the future, but more on that later. This story is about Jared Taylor and Nathan Kohl, a human and a shifter, respectively, who don't really start off on the right foot when they first meet, no thanks to Jared's past with an ex who was a shifter. I liked that Nathan and Jared didn't like one another for a good, long while (well, long enough), because these two really did have to work at trusting each other, and when they finally do get together, it feels far more worthwhile because there was that waiting period as well as all that tension, sexual and otherwise. I think the one hiccup in the story has to do with the rogue pack, which I wish had been delved into a bit more. Overall, though, I enjoyed this book and hope Luke, Seb, Gareth, and Tim also get their stories told. Bitten by Mistake was a strong four-star read. ♥
