Review: Enemies to Lovers by Lani Lynn Vale (Content Advisory #3)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author via Give Me Books Promotions.

Lani Lynn Vale's Content Advisory series is proving to be my catnip because even in the midst of me being sick and all, I couldn't resist reading the newest installment. Enemies to Lovers is the third book, and while the title doesn't actually reflect the story, it was every bit as entertaining as I expected it to be. Like the previous novels, you can read this new one as a standalone, but fair warning, there will be spoilers when it comes to couples who were featured before, and that's not limited to this specific series.

Baker Ritter belatedly realizes the mistake she made when she took back her cheating ex. He's as terrible a boyfriend as he is a father to their baby, Holt. When she finally decides to leave him, she turns to her father, who in turn contacts the one person he trusts to keep his daughter and grandson safe--thirty-three-year-old Truth Teller (and ex-con) Copper Clayborne. Their setup was supposed to be temporary, but soon, these roommates feel like they're their own kind of family. But someone doesn't approve of it.

Both Copper and Baker had interesting back stories, particularly when it comes to the dynamics they had with their respective families. I liked seeing them create a safe haven for themselves and how they formed a bond the more time they spent together. Copper with Holt had me sighing happily, and I applauded how Baker fought to manage and overcome her post-partum depression. Can I also say that I'm just glad the whole Reign saga has FINALLY come to an end? I'm handing Enemies to Lovers 4.5 stars.
