Review: The Arrangement by Adriana Locke (The Brewer Family #2)

Note: An advance reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.

The Arrangement is the second book in Adriana Locke's Brewer Family series, and this go-around, we've got the second oldest Brewer son and CEO of Brewer Air, thirty-five-year-old Jason, agreeing to a marriage of convenience with his close friend and executive assistant, Chloe Goodman. Going from boss to groom to husband wasn't exactly on Jason's schedule the day Chloe announced that they would get married, but it was clear to him that tying the knot was something necessary for her. The bet one of his brothers had come up with was the main instigator for this turn of events, and Jason and Chloe would have to stay married for six months in order to win the darn thing. But aside from Jason winning the bet, Chloe had pressing and practical reasons for pushing for an insta-marriage with the man who signs her paychecks. Six months of a marriage of convenience with all the spousal benefits? Yes, please! The one complication? Convincing a woman who doesn't believe in relationships that this arrangement was totally for keeps.

I tell you, these Brewer brothers, once they set their mind on something--or more aptly, their heart on someone--they pull out all the stops. Jason was undeniably swoon-worthy, and I noted this even before he and Chloe were in Vegas. He cared deeply, and that care wasn't just for Chloe; it was something he gave without hesitation to his family, specifically, his mother, his five siblings, AND Chloe's grandmother, as well as those who worked for and with him in Brewer Air. I adored his relationship with Chloe, as a boss and friend, and then later on, as her partner. He supported her in every single way he knew how, never making her feel like she was inferior to him. All that being said, Chloe was, cheesy as it may sound to some, the wind beneath his wings. It may have taken her a wee bit longer to admit to herself and everyone else just how much she loved Jason, but it was clear in the way she was with him. I laughed and I swooned, and I even teared up at one point, which is why I highly recommend that fellow romance readers make arrangements to go and read The Arrangement as soon as possible. 4.5 stars!
