Review: Crossroads by Carrie Ann Ryan (Ashford Creek #2)
Note: An advanced reader copy (ARC) was provided by the author.
We're only two books into Carrie Ann Ryan's Ashford Creek series, but it's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Even with book hangover that Crossroads has left me, I'm already eagerly and anxiously awaiting--you'll see why after you read the ending of this second book--the release of the third book in this series.
Crossroads is Bodhi Ashford and Kiera West's story. It isn't just about their journey to becoming a couple, but it's also about them moving forward, as individuals and together, and it's about family and community. It also touches upon grief, survivor's guilt, and resilience. And yes, there's also lots of swoon.
Bodhi and Kiera's relationship felt organic, with them forging what may have seemed like an unlikely connection that began when he found her in the state that she was in while hiding out in the cabin next to his. They earned each other's trust, building a relationship based on love, loyalty, and mutual respect.
There's something about this book that felt like it was a full circle moment, and if you're familiar with Carrie Ann Ryan's work, maybe you'll get where I'm coming from. All in all, Crossroads exceeded my expectations, and it's easily become my favorite 2026 release from Ryan. It receives five out of five stars.
