Review: Finding Hope for Tomorrow by Kathryn McNeill Crane (Tomorrows #2)
Note: This ARC was provided by Between the Sheets Promotions in exchange for an honest review.
Finding Hope for Tomorrow is the much awaited follow-up for fans of Searching for Tomorrow, both books belonging to the Tomorrows series written by author Kathryn McNeill Crane. Liam Broun was a supporting character in the first novel, the twin brother to Wrynn Tidwell, best friend of Tripp Tidwell, and doting uncle to the couple's children. He was the one who was there for his sister and his three nieces after they learned of what happened to Tripp, and after putting his life on hold for them, he finally gets his shot at his own happily-ever-after in this sequel. Here, he's paired up with Elizabeth Pittman and Liam must choose to take the first step in his own journey. If you enjoy love stories that are all about how a relationship begins and develops over time and having a main character worth emulating and standing out because he's an honest-to-goodness good guy (that's not to say, however, that bad boys are a no-go, but with so many of those, Liam Broun is refreshing) then I suggest you look into this beautifully written book.
Kathryn McNeill Crane is an author who knows how to tell a story. That's not to say that the novel doesn't have its share of flaws. It does and I do take note of things like that; however, I'm also the kind of reader that believes a story that has a great deal of substance takes precedence over everything else. If there's enough of it, I choose to focus on the good that's there rather than being upset about what's not. We've got a fantastic lead character in Liam, and just like his sister before him, this really is a his story to tell and experience. That's not to say that Elizabeth isn't fantastic, because she's definitely exactly what Liam needed in his life. She's not your cookie cutter heroine and I liked how her being with him gave Liam better perspective and saw that he needed to make certain changes, putting himself and his first instead of the usual last. This novel wasn't as long as the first one--not that I'm complaining--but you still get a complete story and it's one that left me feeling hopefully lighthearted. Five stars for Finding Hope for Tomorrow. ♥
