About Lace-Covered Compromise
Adam Kingston expects to inherit his father’s multinational conglomerate. When he finds out half of it went to Nate Thomas—an annoying man whose dreams for Kingston Corp.’s future clash with Adam’s need to stave off financial disaster—Adam is furious. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to wrest control of Kingston Corp. from Nate.

Nate may be soft-spoken, but he refuses to be swayed by Adam’s arrogant demands. When Nate accidentally drops a pair of his lacy panties in front of Adam, there’s no mistaking Adam’s interest. Nate hadn’t realized Adam was bisexual, but now that his secret is out, Nate is willing to use Adam’s lust against him if it means protecting the welfare of the company he loves.

For Adam and Nate, hatred and desire are closely linked. Their inability to compromise threatens the company and could expose their tightly held secrets. But as they work together to develop a plan to save Kingston Corp., they begin to realize there might be more to their relationship than anger and lust.

A Guest Post from Silvia Violet
Reading Romance

People often ask me why I chose the romance genre for my writing. One reason is that every story I’ve started becomes a romance even if it begins as something else. But the main reason is because romance has been my favorite genre to read since I was in eight grade. That year, one of my close friends discovered her mother’s collection of historical romances which her mom had stashed under the couch in their formal living room. My friend began sneaking the books out a few at a time and passed them along to me and another friend. We’d already cycled through Sweet Valley High (which I now think of as the romance genre gateway drug) and similar series aimed at tween girls. But once we discovered Johanna Lindsay, Amanda Quick, and Elizabeth Lowell, we knew these were the books we’d really wanted. The three of us quickly became voracious romance readers, and I’ve loved the genre ever since.

At first, I stuck primarily with historicals, but eventually I began reading some contemporaries. I cycled through an obsession with romantic suspense. Once the market for paranormals began to grow, I fell in love with those too. As I got older, I tended to gravitate toward erotic stories, and I was thrilled when erotic romance began a more accepted part of the genre. This shift allowed me to write what I love best.

I write in a number of subgenres, contemporary, paranormal, historical and sci fi, but the one thing that ties all my writing together is a high erotic content and sexual scenes that are integral to the characters’ development. In Lace-Covered Compromise, Nate and Adam both lust after each other, but it’s through acting on that lust that they come to realize they want something much deeper.

  1. Thanks for the post. I've been a junkie maybe even younger than eighth grade. I don't remember exactly although I can remember also sneaking my mom's historical romances and also not knowing anything about sex at the time so I was probably about 12. While I also read other genres, romance is and always will be my OTL.
