Review: Crave Me by Cecy Robson (O'Brien Family #3)

Twenty-eight-year-old Erin O'Brien is the sixth among a brood of seven siblings and she's the only girl among the rowdy bunch that calls Philadelphia home. She's trying to move forward from an emotionally abusive relationship and is enjoying her job as the top sales person at the local Ford dealership. When Evan Jonah arrives in his Jaguar requesting for a more suitable vehicle that'll work with the weather conditions in the area, Wren is intrigued by the man with a well-fitted suit and British accent. There's more to him than meets the eye, and Evan is equally taken by the far more outgoing Philly native. There's no pretending that there isn't something there, and it's far more intense and meaningful than any of their past relationships. But with Evan trying to save the company his beloved father started from financial ruin and Wren being hounded by her sociopath ex, will these two be able to overcome all their challenges--especially those from Wren's past and Evan's present--in order to have a chance at any future?

Crave Me had me fooled for the first few chapters. I thought that this was going to be a lighthearted romance between two main characters who seemed to be complete opposites of one another. Then I started to notice the underlying angst that both Evan and Wren had, and as the story progressed, these two actually had a few more similarities than I gave them credit for. Cecy Robson gave us heart and heat, with the continuing thread among all the books in the series being about the power of love that a family like the O'Briens share. I found myself tearing up a couple of times in a number of chapters in the latter half of the book, but there were more smiles and even a laugh or two because this family had no boundaries, whether it be teasing or razzing each other or loving unconditionally. Evan may have been the shy, nerdy, wealthy CEO of his own company, but being around someone like Wren certainly brought out a more playful and passionate sides to him. There was no stiff upper lip with Evan!

I love how these siblings are so interconnected with one another but you can read their individual love stories on their own. Of course, because they all belong to the same family, you're going to want to read the books that came before Wren and Evan's. There are enough hints that make you curious about each of the O'Brien brothers, whether they've already had their stories told or are still waiting for their time in the spotlight. How do I know? Because I actually ended up reading Crave Me before the first two novels in the O'Brien Family series or the three books in the Shattered Past series, from which the O'Brien Family books were spun off. After reading this third and latest release, I couldn't help myself; I had to read the other books and I'm glad I did because Cecy Robson is a master when it comes to tugging your heartstrings but leaving you with a satisfied smile on your face. Now, I'm just going to try and wait patiently until we have Declan O'Brien's story in Feel Me this May 23. Five stars for Crave Me. ♥
