Review: Disarmed by Eva LeNoir (UCC #2)

Note: This ARC was provided by the author via L. Woods PR in exchange for an honest review.

Disarmed is book number two in the ongoing UCC series by Eva LeNoir and it turns the spotlight on Jade McGuire, who was introduced in the series starter, Disheveled, along with the two men in her life, Miles Jennings and Carson Dunn. Jade is a woman in control of the world around her when she's at her job or with her friends, especially now that she's a full-fledged member of the UCC. When she makes her way to the privately-owned apartment that she goes to regularly, a different part of her prevails--the one that's aching to let go and submit to the pain and pleasure. Miles and Carson are Dominants and they're being attuned to one another and to their submissive makes the relationship they have with Jade a good one, albeit it's one that void of any emotional or romantic connections. Or so she thinks. One of her Masters wants more with his Little Gem. Will Jade submit and allow him to break down her defenses and disarm her heart and mind or will she insist that they maintain the relationship that they've enjoyed so far? It's always been Jade, Miles, and Carson, but what happens when three become two?

It's two for two so far for Eva LeNoir and her UCC series! There's something about this author's writing that makes it so damn easy to sink your teeth into the story and become totally invested in the characters. Now, I've read my fair share of stories involving threesomes or triads, but Jade's story with Miles and Carson was able to set itself apart. The humor that was present in the first novel was here as well, but it wasn't just the lighter tone of the story that made this different. Jade doesn't do love but one man wants her to take a risk that she considers far more difficult than anything sexual that she's submitted to in the past. Now, I won't say who that man is because, hello, spoilerville. I will say, however, that I never really envisioned her with anyone else except him. There connection was different because it went deeper than any of the others. There is BDSM in this story but the story is not exclusively about BDSM. This was about Jade taking a chance and opening herself up to not just the idea of love but to the actual part of falling and staying in love. I can't wait for the next UCC tale! Disarmed easily gets 4.5 stars. ♥
