Review: Malcolm: The Meeting by Jade Sinner (Cocky Smiling O #3)

Note: This ARC was provided by InkSlinger PR in exchange for an honest review.

Malcolm: The Meeting is the third installment in the Cocky Smiling O series of novellas from author Jade Sinner and it's all about Amanda Jane Wells, a single mother who's encouraged by her best friend and her parents to go on a blind date in hopes of her moving forward with her personal life. Her mom advises her to be a new version of herself, leaving Amanda behind and becoming Mandy, the woman ready to have fun and see where her blind date may take her. While waiting at a bar for her date, she meets Malcolm Peppernick, and the spark between them has both agreeing to one night together. But that one night has Malcolm craving for more nights together with Mandy, and if she's totally honest with herself, she wants the same thing. Can Mandy risk her fragile heart with a man like Malcolm or will she end up regretting it?

There's a twist in the story and it's a predictable one, as noted by the author in the synopsis for the book, but this was still such a cute read, one that I enjoyed for the half-hour it took me to read it. Mandy wanted to move on from being Amanda, while Malcolm was no longer the Pep everyone thought they knew, and it was as if the time was just right for both of them to meet and fall for each other. This kind of novella nearly always comes with a guaranteed happily-ever-after, but I so appreciated the author adding one more surprise before the story ended, and I finished the book with a grin on my face. Among all of Jade Sinner's books, I have to say that this one is my current favorite. Malcolm: The Meeting receives 4.5 stars. ♥
