Review: Chokehold by K.A. Merikan (Guns n' Boys #5)

Note: This ARC was provided by Signal Boost Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Chokehold is the fifth full-length novel and sixth release in the ongoing Guns n' Boys series from K.A. Merikan and takes our protagonists across the border of Mexico, but if they thought freedom was going to finally be within their grasp, they had another thing coming. Domenico Acerbi and Seth Villani have come too far to turn their backs on one another now, but even after a year of being together, the challenges they face are neither easy nor simple. Dom has always preferred to be in control, knowing how things are going to be so as not to be taken unaware by anyone or anything. Unfortunately, it's that never ending need for control that threatens what he and Seth have. Will Dom being able to let go enough to hand the reins over to Seth, or will his stranglehold choke the life--and love--straight out of their fragile year-old relationship?

This series has proven to be quite an addictive one and Dom and Seth are the poster boys for antiheroes everywhere. How can you not fall for these two flawed yet engaging men? Their devotion to one another is immeasurable and they've already been through a lot after six books--or maybe more of five and a half since one is more of a novella. The danger with a series that has lasted as long as this one and, based on a quick peek at the Goodreads series page, still has at least another novel on the horizon, is that there's no else for the characters to go. Yet, both Dom and Seth continue to evolve, as does their relationship. Sex, violence, and everything in between are par for the course when it comes to this latest addition and it's the epitome of all that fans have come to expect from the Guns n' Boys series. I'm giving Chokehold five stars. ♥
