Review: Filthy Foreign Exchange by S.E. Hall & Angela Graham

Note: This ARC was provided by TRSoR Promotions in exchange for an honest review.

Filthy Foreign Exchange sees the return of the bestselling writing duo of S.E. Hall and Angela Graham. The female lead character is seventeen and the male lead character is twenty, so this was a bit of a young adult (YA) and new adult (NA) crossover. Going into the book, I honestly thought it was a standalone, so imagine my surprise when I got to the end realized there was a cliffhanger waiting for me. Yep, there's a hint (cough, a whole load, cough) of frustration on my end, but it looks like it'll be less than two months of a waiting period, and I guess that's better than having to face half a year or more of twiddling my thumbs.

Echo Kelly is a high school senior with a passion for aerial performance art. When she's faced with prospect of having hot but smug Brit and foreign exchange student Kingston Hawthorne one room away from her, little does she realize that it'll be the start of a snark-filled friendship that leads to something more. I really liked the dynamic within their relationship, which had equal parts sarcasm and swoon. There's a lot more to both Echo and Kingston than meets the eye, though Kingston is more of a mystery, and hopefully, we'll get to know more about him in the conclusion of their story, due for release this June.

This book is a study in emotional and sexual tension, building upon every layer of anticipation it throws your way. It's clear that these two are more than drawn to each other and had this been a real life situation, I would have told them to get a move on and get on with it already. But I think that this does its job of leaving you wanting more, and with a sequel waiting in the wings, I totally get why. This was my first read from either author, and it didn't disappoint. I'm going to try and be patient while waiting for the second book, and my fingers are crossed that Kingston and Echo will make this worth the wait. Four stars. ♥
