Review: Love Me Like a Rock by Amy Jo Cousins (Bend or Break #6)

Love Me Like a Rock is the sixth book in the Bend or Break series from author Amy Jo Cousins and features Austin Keating, art student and cox for the Carlisle junior varsity rowing team, dealing with his unrequited feelings for his best friend and finding Sean Campbell, a geology teacher's assistant prepping for his dissertation. Sean has had his eye on Austin since he first saw him the year before, but it takes Austin seeing Sean, a repeat nude model in an art class, having a very physical reaction when Austin stares a tad too long at one particular part of his body. Austin loves that Sean anticipates his needs and seems to know him so well even after only a short time together. But will Sean be able to stay within the very casual parameters set by Austin and will Austin finally recognize that what he feels for Sean may be the real deal?

I've been excited to read Austin's story ever since he was first introduced in the fifth book in the series. I was glad to see Austin try and move forward from Vinnie Lim, his best friend and monthly fuck buddy. I loved Sean because he seemed like exactly what Austin needed--someone who loved and wanted him wholeheartedly and never hesitated to take care of Austin in a way he never experienced with Vinnie. Maybe it's because Sean is older and isn't too caught up in his own wants and needs, but he was such a sweetheart and has become one of my favorites in the series. This book was just like Austin: short but satisfying and packed with enough heart and heat to keep me happy. Love Me Like a Rock can be found in Between a Rock and Hard Place, which does also include the seventh book. Book six receives five stars. ♥

Review: The Room Mate by Kendall Ryan (Roommates #1)

I do believe I've found myself a new book boyfriend to drool, erm, swoon over in Cannon Roth, male main character in bestselling author Kendall Ryan's Roommates series starter, The Room Mate . This had a familiar romance trope--falling-for-your-best-friend's-sibling--and yet I didn't find it boring or tiresome in any way.
