Review: See You at Sunset by V.K. Sykes (Seashell Bay #3)

Note: This ARC was provided by Grand Central Publishing (Forever) in exchange for an honest review.

See You at Sunset is the third and latest addition to the Seashell Bay series by bestselling author V.K. Sykes and features another friends-to-lovers story but is one that has thirty-one-year-old Holly Tyler hesitant to fall in love again, even if her heart tells her that thirty-three-year-old Micah Lancaster would do anything and everything to keep her happy. Holly and Micah are really good friends who also had their own share of sparks flying the summer before, just like the couple before them. Holly is also someone who has lived her life away from Seashell Bay, only coming to visit during the summer and spending her time with her friends and her two beloved aunts. Just when her career is about to take off, she makes her way to Seashell Bay to help her aunts take care of the family-owned general store that's struggled for some time.

Micah has always had a thing for Holly, but he's more than aware that her life is elsewhere and he hasn't forgotten that she's got herself a boyfriend. But with the attraction between them at an all-time high and neither one able to deny it any longer, they give in. The thing is, Holly thought she already had her happily-ever-after years ago, but that led to heartache that she still carries with her. After having loved and lost, she keeps things as uncommitted as possible, but Micah wants more than what Holly's willing to give him. Holly's got her own set of plans that she wants to stick to, but Micah's presenting to be a temptation that could have her contemplating something totally different for herself. These two are both sweet and steamy together, and their love story has become my favorite Seashell Bay romance as of late.

I've enjoyed the three stories that I was able to read back to back to back. There's something about small towns that make the cast of characters feel like family, breeding the sort of familiarity that leads you to not just wanting to know more about those who haven't had their shot at the spotlight but also becoming more invested in not just what happens with the characters but with the town itself. Seashell Bay has quite a few scene-stealers and most of them aren't exactly spring chickens but are able to make their presence felt and I doubt that they would have it any other way. As was the case with the couples before them, Micah and Holly have their fair share of angst and drama to deal with, but their story makes you want to believe that with love can pave the way for new and better plans to be made. I'm giving See You at Sunset four stars. ♥
