Grace Douglas has lived in Montana for years but has never learned how to ski. When her friends suggest that surprise with an overnight stay at the Snow Ghost Lodge, a beautiful ski resort located on Whitetail Mountain, so she can get a lesson or two in prior to an upcoming bachelorette party in Aspen, Colorado. Her clumsiness is legendary and Grace isn't sure if there's any hope for her to actually learn how to ski, what more stay standing on a pair of skis long enough to go downhill. Then she meets her instructor and the man's gorgeousness is enough to inspire her to stick it out. But Jacob Baxter is no ordinary ski instructor; he's actually the billionaire hotelier who owns the resort. Grace and Jacob will have to get over a secret identity, different backgrounds, and some miscommunication for a shot at something much more.

Saving Grace is a novella in the Love Under the Big Sky contemporary romance series by bestselling author Kristen Proby. The story was originally part of the multi-authored Baby, It's Cold Outside anthology released in October 2014. Grace Douglas and Jacob Baxter click right away and it's clear that the attraction between them is strong and very much mutual. Grace's colloquialisms as she tries to mimic Brit Jacob are part of her appeal because she comes off as the girl next door, clumsiness and all, while Jacob is worldly yet doesn't let his wealth or social stature dictate how he acts. This novella falls between the second and third novels in the series but can be read independently. Saving Grace is a short but sweet read with humor and is quite a fast-paced four-starred romance finding true love when you least expect it.

Date Read: 12 December 2015
