Review: Love Your Entity by Cat Devon (Entity #3)

Well-known author and unknown ghost whisperer Sierra Brennan is looking to inherit the house her great-uncle left her, but it appears she's got someone making a claim on the house as well--a vampire named Ronan McCoy. Ronan's family owned the home before he was turned and the one thing that he was focused on while he was indentured to his sire was his sister Adele. Unfortunately, Adele's soul is being held hostage by his sire and if Ronan fails to retrieve a key his sire wants, Ronan will be forced to be indentured for eternity. Add to that Sierra trying to get rid of a gangster poltergeist and both she and Ronan, who end up forming a vampire bond, need to face the challenges together before time runs out.

Love Your Entity is the third novel and fourth release in the Entity series from author Cat Devon and brings a fresh flavor to the series with a ghost whispering paranormal romance novelist named Sierra Brennan and a formerly indentured (but could be again) vampire who has a very dark past named Ronan McCoy. The two begin their story battling for ownership over the house they both claim for themselves--Sierra's great-uncle owned it and Ronan's family owned it over a century ago--but it soon becomes more than just about the house as a ghost named Ruby begs Sierra to get rid of a poltergeist named Hal so that she can cross over and Ronan needs to find a mysterious key in order to save his beloved sister's spirit.

I liked the ghost element in the story because it made it stand out from the earlier installments while still keeping with the humorous paranormal romance thriller vibe that the series is known for. Among all the main characters so far, Ronan's back story appears to be the darkest and his desperation to meet his sire's deadline kind of breaks your heart for the poor vampire. The fact that Sierra is a strong partner helps Ronan's cause and I loved these two together, especially since they're up against more than one foe in the middle of falling for each other. While this can be read as a standalone, I'm recommending you read the series in order so that you get a more well-rounded reading experience. Love Your Entity gets four stars! ♥
