Author Spotlight: Meghan March, "Beneath This Ink"

In line with the release of Beneath This Ink, which I absolutely adored, the marvelous Meghan March took a breather from all that fabulous writing to answer a few questions so that we can all get to know her better. ^.^

Enjoy!

A Q&A with Meghan March
1. What inspires you to write the stories that you come up with?

My inspiration comes from everywhere and nowhere. I know that doesn't make much sense, but I tend to be fairly observant, so I see plot ideas and character ideas everywhere. And then sometimes, it’s just a flash of inspiration that seemingly comes out of nowhere. I kind of love it that way because I never know what’s going to spark the next idea or create the next character.

2. Would you ever consider collaborating with another author on a book? If so, who would be your top three choices?

I’m definitely intrigued by the idea of collaborating with another author on a book. I think mixing two people’s brains and styles can create really interesting plots and characters that would otherwise never exist. As far as choices… that’s a tough question.

3. Who's your go-to author or an author whose books you wouldn't hesitate reading?

Lexi Ryan. I will read anything that woman writes. I will wait up until midnight and sacrifice sleep to devour her books. I have no idea how her brain works to come up with her plots, but I freaking love it. And I came to this conclusion before I ever met her and found out that she’s just a straight up awesome person too.

4. What advice would you give aspiring writers out there?

Don’t waste time aspiring. Get down to business and write. There are always going to be days when the words flow easily, and there are always going to be the days when it’s like dragging every word from your brain with rusty pliers, but don’t give up. You can’t edit a blank page and chances are nothing you write will ever be perfect the first time. Get the words down and fix them later. Allow yourself to suck. Someone once told me the first million words are practice. So write faster and get through them.

5. If your life story were to be published today, what would its title be?
